Ciara & Ray

Meath Garden Wedding

I started preparations for Ciara & Ray’s march Meath wedding well in advance. I was so excited that my very first wedding this year would take place in one of the most beautiful wedding venues in County Meath. Everything was going so well, with a great start to the 2020 wedding season. At the beginning of March the media was flooding with news about some virus…..Unfortunately, most of the plans had to be changed. The wedding ceremony took place in St. Bridgit’s Church in Oldcastle. The priest who married Ciara & Ray was the famous Father Ray Kelly. It was a very beautiful and intimate ceremony surrounded by loved ones. Due the new restrictions, the ceremony was moved to Ray’s family garden into the marquee… giving them less than 18 hours to organise everything! Many people would be unable to prepare this on time, but not these two!

With great help from family and friends, all was set and ready to welcome the guests. Ray’s dad stepped in as the head chef and grilled over 40 steaks to perfection! What stood out for me most was the true power of family and friendship. The relaxed, homely atmosphere made for a great reception party. The wedding showed the great bond between the lovely couple and their family and friends who worked together to make their special day as perfect as could be.
