There are so many different wedding photography styles out there. My idea of wedding photography is very simple. I just want to capture a moment and the atmosphere, emotions and memories connected to it. I believe wedding photography should show how you and your guests felt during your wedding.
My goal is to bring out all that energy from the day with an entire collection of photographs that you can cherish forever.
CAPTURING REAL MOMENTS
AT A WEDDING
I am constantly shooting with these elements in mind; good observation skills and being in the right place at the right time. I have a good understanding of where and when I need to have my camera in hand. Rather than shooting details and arranged portraits I fill m photos with as much activity and context as possible. This helps me to tell your wedding story which will focus viewers attention on specific moments happening within each frame.
I believe a good photograph should show real emotions.
During the day, I try to blend in with the background to be as discrete as possible and create as little disruption to the flow of events. I want to capture truly honest reactions and emotions from you and your guests. My goal is to catch people unposed, relaxed and natural. I am a big fan of black and white photos but I also experiment with colour where appropriate. If your wedding is on a beautiful, sunny summer day with colourful flower arrangements then I want to capture that scenery too.
I shoot group portraits as well and make them a fun, unproblematic experience. These are the most traditional photos that I offer and I feel that they are as important as the more natural shots of the day. To be honest, most people have a group portrait hung up on their walls at home. I will approach group portraits in a very efficient way so they will be done in no time. I haven't met a couple yet who like to pose for those but everyone looks for them to be taken on the wedding day.
Natural, unposed portraits
I usually allow around 20 minutes for photos of just the two of you on your wedding day. I will work with you to minimise the disturbance of your time with your guests. Most couples enjoy to have some private time together to acknowledge the new chapter they just started. I try to read the vibes from each couple to see what they are comfortable with. Some couples want more directions than others. The most important part within this process is a collaboration between you and I. The biggest piece of advice to getting great and natural photos is to relax and just to be yourself.
